The following products are eligible for the Small Business Investment Tax Credit (SBIC) and the Small Employer Relief (SET) and have been approved by the CRA for the 2018 tax year.
The CRA encourages businesses to take advantage of the new credits by filing a new Small Business Application with the CRA, as well as by paying a set amount for the tax year to be used for the credit.
The SBIC is the most significant new tax credit program in recent memory.
As part of this program, companies with annual sales over $500,000 are eligible to receive a $500 credit, up to a maximum of $10,000 per year.
For example, if you have a business that makes up to $5,000 a year and your sales exceed $1 million, you would be eligible to apply for the SBIBTC.
If your business does not meet this level of sales, you will not qualify for the rebate.
In addition, companies may receive a rebate if they are in compliance with the Small Enterprise Business (SEB) Tax Rebate and/or the Small and Disadvantaged Businesses Tax Credit.
You may also qualify for a rebate by: making a qualifying business investment of at least $1,000 in your local business or non-residential office;
