Walmart plans to open more than 1,000 stores across the country this year, the company announced Wednesday.
Walmart is expected to open around 1,200 stores by the end of 2019, the chain’s annual report showed.
The company has yet to reveal any details about the stores it will open, but said they will include a “dining room, home improvement, apparel, and more.”
The company said it expects to spend more than $1.3 billion in 2019 to open stores in the U.S.
It said it will be opening 1,100 stores across North America.
The company also said it would expand its fulfillment operations and “improve the efficiency of our retail operations.”
The company also revealed that it has plans to add 1,400 more employees at its U.K. and U.A.E. operations.
The report also said Walmart will spend $4.6 billion in 2020 to expand its business, with the majority of the spending coming in the retail and apparel categories.
